And aid conservative propaganda to help a Republican come to power? I'm very sure it would cause further disruption in the world arena. Unlike many who take incredible effort to differentiate, I don't see much difference between ISIS and Neocons of US. The worldview and agenda is harmful to all countries and cultures.

In this case, republicans can point at China giving medal to Hunter and scream communist collusion. Then they come into power and even if the republican populace is averse to wars now, an emphatic plea will be generated by the neocon leaders to convince the populace that a war with China is the fight of their lives to protect "the freedoms".
Of course, behind the curtains, certain religious leaders will try to draw comparisons of China with 'gog/ magog', whatever . We saw it happen during the Cold war with USSR or war in Iraq or Afghanistan. It won't be hard to convince ( because they are already convinced) that Russia and China, being big and powerful, already fits the "description". So many innocent lives lost because of indoctrination and end times fanaticism.

As far right is taken mainstream, expect far right politicians to come to power.
/end OT rant/
Lol if Trump comes back in 2024 it will be a blessing for China. Republicans are even more gerontocratic and corrupt than Democrats, plus Trump coming back would make all the US vassals butthurt.

The Central Comprehensively Deepening Reforms Commission, an agency headed by President Xi Jinping, approved on Wednesday the 2021-2023 blueprint, aimed at “winning the tough battle” of refining how China manages its science and technology resources and projects.
Xi said at the meeting that the ultimate goal is to set up an institutional system for “self-sufficiency and self-empowerment in technology”.

The Chinese govt has two hands each doing the opposite thing as the other. One hand is saying we need more technology, more investment, complaining about US listing bans, etc. The other hand is punishing Chinese tech companies, punishing investment, and punishing US listing.

Where do you see 2 hands here?

China doesn't care if Chinese companies list in the US as long as relevant Chinese laws are followed. Already there are Chinese IPOs planned in NYSE

Instead of reacting in an irrational manner, I would recommend reading the reasons why such actions are being taken.

Care to elaborate?

Which tech companies are punished by the Chinese governemnt, and more importantly, why are these companies punished?

What kind of investments are the Chinese government punishing?

That's called proper control. A better analogy is that your biceps and triceps are antagonistic muscles to each other but they work together to give your arm precise motion and control of strength. Another correct analogy is that you want your garden to grow but you only want your target plants and you want them to grow into the arrangement you choose; you still need to chop weeds and trim your branches. Due to your (likely voluntary) lack of understanding, you starting freaking out, "You want your garden to grow but you keep killing plants! One hand add fertlizer and the other hand cuts away!" Don't worry; the CCP always delivers and you don't need to understand. But it doesn't matter because nobody believes you really want anything good for China anyway. You just like drama.

China wants more tech but it's not a no-regulations, no-rules free for all. The actions must be measured and taken with the best interests of China and the Chinese people at heart. They must not create a monopolistic environment or one that caters to worshipping foriegn markets instead.

If you want to see 2 hands beating each other up, look at the Democrats and Republicans in the US.
