Love the lying and spinning. The only way they can domestically produce rare earths at home is to subsidize it. It will never be cheaper for them, It will always cost them more. Just like water always finds its own level, greedy corporations always find the cheapest possible place to outsource in order to make themselves more money. I remember when this whole rare earth controversy for the West first started, I would call it outsourcing and people would tell me it's not outsourcing. They don't call it outsourcing because there's an automatic reflexive reaction that it's bad and must stop. The US government and industry doesn't want it to stop. If they want to stop it and want to get everyone on board and act, then they should call it outsourcing. But for some strange reason they won't do it. Why? Because this is all a song and dance routine to also avoid saying they want Chinese to risk their health and lives associated with processing and refining rare earths so they don't have to pay Americans hazard pay and the high cost of health insurance for American labor that they would have to cough up to set up domestic processing. What they're really trying figure out how they can have control over Chinese rare earth production so they don't have to pay all those added high cost to protect workers' health that they would have to in the West. It's a conundrum that they will never solve because what they want is slavery. It doesn't have to be China, they can do it in another country if they can find one that will volunteer to be their slaves where they get nothing for themselves and the West is the only one that gains. You can see the obstacle there when they also claim to be the champion of human rights in the world.
And don't believe the lie where they claim reducing China's dominance to 60% of the rare earths industry saves them from Chinese control. Saudi Arabia doesn't control 60% of the world's oil yet a dominating player in the world oil market. China can still flood the world with cheap rare earths and the West will lose their shirt. Their mistake is thinking China wants to make money and will always want the price high. The West's own domestic production will raise world rare earth prices. If that were the case China could raise the price right now and not make them so cheap. If that were the case why was it a decade ago where the West rang the alarm bells and ran to the WTO because China wanted to reduce shipments to the West. Wouldn't it help their cause for domestic production if China forced them to do it? They lose their eyes on the prize when something more important is at stake and that's being the one in control.
