Likely more than that, but possibly not under PBOC, but hold by the people in China. China never exporting gold that produce internally, even China is the largest producer of gold for years now. China is also one of the biggest importers of gold in the world.

I wouldn't be surprised if gold in China (PBOC, corporate and people) exceed 30kt. Remember that Chinese people love Gold

Interesting report here in 2021

It says around 30,000 tonnes since 2000 and you know before that Chinese also had a lot of gold
From 2015 to 2024, China accumulated about 12,200 tons of gold through net imports, about 3,900 tons of gold through domestic production, and gold reserves increased by about 16,100 tons. By 2024, China's gold production reached 380 tons and net imports reached 1,230 tons.

Japanese hybrids like Prius are ICE cars.
Only the West count them as part of hybrid to make themselves look good.

I don't think this is a useful framework. In the late 1990s, the Prius was a significant departure from existing ICE paradigms and was deservedly recognised as such. Vehicle electrification exists on a spectrum, beginning with electric headlights and starter motors. The "NEV" framework that is used in China is quite useful in pushing back against the narrative that divides the automotive landscape into BEV and Everything Else, but that does not mean that everything that is not an NEV should be bundled together as simply ICE. There are meaningful distinctions to be made between "pure" ICE, "mild hybrid", and "strong hybrid" drivetrains like Toyota's HSD.
