It's just like iPhones are more expensive in China when Chinese make them.
I'm going to have to call a [citation needed] on that. It makes no sense whatsoever to have a locally assembled product be more expensive than the same product exported, especially when the country it's being exported to has six times the nominal per capita GDP.

.

Probably the same reason with cars.
Ah, I see, I thought you were talking about pre-tax prices with Apple itself charging more. Yes, I know about and wholeheartedly support the consumption taxes on foreign products. It seems that if what you're saying about illicit incomes is correct, the Chinese government is still collecting those taxes.

A growing number of farmers have given up even attempting to climb up the income ladder. Near the central city of Huangshi, Li Jianguo, a 43-year-old migrant worker turned farmer, said he was comfortable living off a 0.4 hectare of paddy field from which he makes a yearly profit of Rmb7,800. “I have neither skills nor capital to boost my income,” said Mr Li. “I need to work with what I have.”

This is something only time can solve. The older generation will soon be replaced.

The beauty of 5G and the Chinese internet is that even farmers can sell their produce to the mass domestic market of China; as 5G proceeds and commerce between the country and the cities develops and China's urbanisation is completed, we'll soon see the eradication of poverty in China, even by the end of this year if all goes according to schedule.

Setting the market in fully auto mode does not solve any problem. It could also make the jungle of freemarket even more complex. A distant farm in the mountains is harded to deliver it's products fresh and in quality than one that is better positioned in the country, closer to the consumers. That cannot be dissapear because of 5G or any technology gadjet. These people must be subsidised to survive. Maybe the state could provide superfast delivery via special HSR service for free :p

Any western MSM article claiming to be championing Chinese domestic issues are just crying crocodile tears to try to create and magnify grievances within Chinese society. It’s basically the same old imperialist tactic of getting t he locals to fight amongst themselves for no good reason so they are too distracted and divided to resist when the west rolls in and takes whatever it wants.

The FT could not care less about poor Chinese farmers, since it is a paper run by and for the western rich elite.

It is basically cherry picking the most negative comments from Chinese social media (many of which were probably first posted by CIA troll farms and/or CIA operatives posing as Chinese, as we have documented examples aplenty of) to present as the voice of the ‘Chinese people’, with the obligatory comments about doubts about the Chinese ‘political power’ system always making its mandated appearance.

It’s also a bit rich for the west to start nit picking about Chinese aspirational social improvement projects during this year, when they could not even keep their own citizens alive.

The very fact that China has a poverty alleviation programme that has achieved unprecedented success is in stark contrast to the FT’s primary home and targeted audiences in the UK and US, which have seen unprecedented rises in poverty and inequality.

It’s just business as usual propaganda war by the western MSM. No need to get unduly concerned as I have high confidence that the experts in China working on these programmes have far more insight and understanding of the challenges they face, and have spent far more time formulating responses than the hacks at the FT who spent a few days cherry picking statistic and loaded comments would even comprehend.
