Vietnam is looking to recognize CAAC certificate as equivalent to FAA standard and have this in place by April 30th to allow C909 to fly imo.
Huge move and a sign of Vietnam getting closer to China.

This happened after CAAV visited China to inspect COMAC’s production facilities and meet with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

AEP-400? Not the AEP-500?

I have speculated in the engine thread that AEP-400 might simply be flatrated AEP-500.

I'm not sure if AEP500 is still a thing. An official report on a 2024 meeting on materials certification only mentioned AEP400 and not AEP500. Given that the plan was for AEP500 to receive certification in 2028 it should have been discussed. Perhaps they're only expecting flatrated applications so they are only going to certify the engine for flatrated uses and renamed it AEP400.

customs and immigration control was not intimidating nor did they even show any sign of rude behaviour like I have experience in many other parts of the world especially countries in the Middle East where they literally throw your passport at you after stamping it
Ahaha... So you have also witnessed that in the middle East just like me. Even though I have not always had the same experience in every middle Eastern country I have visited. A few of them were actually quite polite and helpful.

UAT Air in Shenzhen recently had its TD550D unmanned helicopter certified by CAAC for airworthiness. This is the first type certificate (TC) issued to an unmanned helicopter in China. UAT Air started the certification process on Dec 28 in 2023.

航空器TC适航取证是保障航空器安全、规模化商业运营的基础。TD550D无人直升机系统适航取证之路始于2023年12月28日,为确保飞行器的安全可靠,验证涵盖了旋翼系统、动力系统、航电系统、飞行控制等多个关键领域的测试,开展了29个符合性验证试验、2600余架次的摸底试飞,以及6大项、72个科目的正式符合性验证飞行试验,全面评估无人直升机系统在各种运行环境下的性能表现。

以TD550D型号为代表的TD550系列无人直升机不仅实现8级抗风、中小雨环境作业,还具备应急返航、自动起降和紧急迫降能力以应对突发情况。如遇紧急情况失去与地面控制站的通信联系,TD550无人直升机能够自动返回预设的起降点,或自动寻找合适的降落区域进行安全着陆,将对地面人员和财产的危害降到最低。

此外,TD550无人直升机还配备了先进的电子围栏功能,精准设定飞行区域,可有效防止无人机进入禁飞区或偏离预定航线。

以安全保障为基础,TD550无人直升机自主程度高,适应高原、海岛等复杂环境,凭借6500米高原作业能力、200公斤载重优势及多任务模块兼容性,形成应急救援、消防灭火、智慧物流等全行业应用矩阵。

联合飞机董事长兼总裁田刚印表示,中国无人机在全球范围内率先探索出了一条适航之路,树立了全新的行业标杆,为低空经济发展提供了宝贵的经验和范例。
