On the nose it is marked "FPV cover". FPV is "First Person View" meaning the model is remote controlled with a camera onboard, just like an UAV. I think this model is the remote controlled model that we have seen before.

The frontal view shows the possible camera window on the nose.

Follow on of C919 is certainly CR929 which is in early design stage. While this lift body design is only in concept design.
I was thinking of follow on as in the same weight class of the C919 (presumably the lifting body is a single aisle aircraft).

The first China-made landing gear for the C919 large passenger aircraft has been delivered to the developer, according to the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

The domestically-made nose landing gear and main landing gear have undergone various tests before being delivered on Wednesday by a China-Germany joint venture to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), the developer of C919, said AVIC.

They were made by Liebherr LAMC Aviation (Changsha) Co., Ltd. in Changsha, central China's Hunan Province, which focuses on developing landing gear systems for the country's aircraft projects.

Liebherr LAMC Aviation (Changsha) Co., Ltd. is a 50-50 joint venture of the AVIC Landing Gear Advanced Manufacturing Corp. and Liebherr Aerospace.

To date, the company has created the assembly and test lines for the C919 landing gear, a major step forward for the joint venture to become the first-tier supplier of domestic large passenger aircraft.

Before this, the company also delivered the landing gear for the ARJ21 new regional jetliners.

Both the C919 and ARJ21 aircraft are developed by the state-owned COMAC.

The parent companies have decided that Liebherr LAMC Aviation (Changsha) Co., Ltd. would bid for the Sino-Russian joint C929 wide-body large passenger aircraft project.

also didn't CR929 issue a tender for landing gear from outside Russia and China?

It is landing gear. Liebherr supplied COMAC until now. Now they form joint venture with AVIC landing landing gear advance manufacturing to built landing locally in China with the participation of Chinese engineer. It is technology transfer that Trump hate. But Germany has no problem with. There are not that many company that has the landing gear technology Safran, Dowty,UTC

China is very late in civilian airliner manufacturing you don't create it overnight . Military no problem but that does not required demanding safety. Right now there are all kind of joint venture in China to manufacture Airliner components from AC to avionic
