Chinese ATGM discussion

Based on the fins' configuration and the missile's size, it is most likely a HJ12 variant. Plus I believe it is the only top attack missile within the Chinese's array of atgm's.

HJ-10 and KD-9/10 can also engage in top attack mode.

The new medium ATGM "HJ-16" would likely be able to do so as well.
The new ATGMs we've seen trialled on Z-10 should as well.

Really, all modern ATGMs should have top attack as a standard feature since a decade ago.

Based on the size and configuration of those missiles in the brief frames, I think those missiles are either HJ-12 or the "HJ-16"

Thanks for your replies guys. Judging the size of the missile compared to the tank turret, it looks too big for an HJ 12 or am I wrong? B.t.w. is the angle of attack possibly around 70 degrees?

Is this from a video? Could you perhaps share the link?

Yes. The image below appears to show five launcher boxes, with space for one more on the right side. So it looks like it can carry a total of six. The truck should definitely be able to take on more weight than six.

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but I think this HJ-10 ATGM carrier has the same chassis as the new-ish 20 tube 122mm rocket launcher.

Does anyone know the official designation of this MRL?

So, looks like the PLA is standardizing mobile fire support using this chassis for the high mobility troops in some Theatre commands.

May I assume that the two missile attacks were fired simultaneously from the same launcher vehicle?
