ZBD05 in action recently the marine brigades has been enlarged and training intensified Here they are in action
Interesting the track roller can be retracted into the hull to reduced drag see the animation

The vehicle is designed with a hydraulic-actuated bow with transom flaps, designed to aid hull skimming across the surface of the water. When activated the bow and transom flaps form a planing surface with the bottom of the hull, allowing the vehicle to go faster because hydrodynamic drag is reduced on the vehicle's hull. The ZBD2000 features a flat, boat-like hull, with 6 retractable road wheels each side and front/rear rollers. A welded turret is mounted in the center of the hull, with the powerpack positioned in the front and the passenger compartment in the rear.

ZBD05 vehicles appeared in military parade in 2009 and 2015. Chief designer is Chen Peng Fei from Norinco group.

The Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) variant of the ZBD2000 was built to accompany the light tank variant in the battlefield in amphibious operations. The vehicle shares the same hull, but replaces the 3-man 105mm rifled gun with a 2-man 30mm cannon turret with a

machine gun. The vehicle has a crew of 3 and can carry 7-8 (Squad) armed soldiers in its passenger compartment in the rear. The 30mm cannon isn't present in any armoured vehicles within the PLA Marine Corps, indicating a possible brand new 30mm cannon design.

I don't think the 30mm cannon is new. I believe it is a copy of Russian 2A72 autocannon/ its Ukrainian derivative. As for why it looks funny I think it's because 2A72 on its own just flexes too much when firing in bursts, that's why they put the structure to guide the recoiling gun barrel in an attempt to improve accuracy. As for whether it works or not, I'm not knowledgeable enough to judge the result.
