CDF already has some discussion of this. CJDBY via Hongjian:

Additional information links to a proposed 100 kW laser for the F-35. So in theory, the max energy output for the J-20 could reach 200 kW, or thwacking a drone-sized target at 9 km in 5 seconds.

Looks like trials have been going on for quite some time now. I wonder if the J-11 was specifically tested because of its twin engine's power output.

"PLA is procuring a laser attack pod, which Chinese media speculated could be an aircraft-based tactical weapon; laser could potentially protect against incoming missile attacks"

Looks like there is already a procurement bid.

Hello, do you have any update on this? I have not read anything about airborne high energy laser tests occurring.
This kind of thing and in general, development of new tech and stuff for the PLA is all in all, very secretive with little info about it leaking to the public.

So no, I don't think we have any new info in regards to this.
