I was watching the Chinese military observation post on sky and came across these

Y-9 transports but what does the writing say ? On the aircraft and the banners ?

A bunch of new Y9/Y8, they are definitely adressing the transport.AEW,Anti Sub plane shortcoming From Oedo
You can see total of 19 transport at airports of Shaanxi Airfield Industrial Company with 12 Y-8/9 series airplanes. There are at least four KJ-500 early warning control machines and three GX-6 anti-submarine patrol aircraft.

Do we know how many Y8/Y9 variants are built every year ? It seems to me as if production has increased a lot.

Any news on the Chinese An-225? I heard the Ukrainians were gonna complete a second airframe for China, but that also China would build some themselves, possibly with Chinese improvements.

I'm guessing these types of things are decade long programs, but I've just heard absolutely nothing on this for quite a while now.

The PLA should get this project up and running ASAP. They are really lacking behind in Transpot, Tanker and AWACS. The AN225 would be the perfect platform for the PLA to increase their capabilities in those areas.

Hell, no. The An-225 is a novel piece of hardware with very limited opportunities for use. It requires astronomical resources to build and maintain while offering little additional benefit over Y-20-class airlifters and negligible additional benefit over C-5-class heavy airlifters. China might have a use for something like the An-124 but definitely not the An-225. It's very illustrative that no major aerospace power in the world from Europe, US, to former-CIS, has bothered to construct a plane as large as the An-225, quite simply because there's little use for it. The An-225 is most useful to China as a guide on how to make an An-124, not in and of itself.
