I thinks it is obvious that China always seek help or even copy when venture into a new area. Only when they have learned enough then they would design new in the second generation. I would say that is a very wise approach. Its pay to be humble and learn from those who walk before you.

im sorry, but what does this has to do with China's Transport, Tanker & heavy lift aircraft?

None.

But if you read back on recent posts, you would see that there is a discussion on whether China is getting foreign help in building Y20.

This news is relevant in that it might indicate that China MAYBE doing something similar with Y20 as with WZ10, contract russian/ukraine help in providing a design CONCEPT.

But if you feel that it is irrelevant, feel free to get the mod to delete it.

In other news, Russian sources indicated China wishes to purchase IL-476 to equip 2 whole divisions and also purchase ad least 300 Su-35's to boost their "flailing" indigenous fleet. Parallel to this, the PLAN also wishes to purchase 2 dozen Lada submarines in light of the inferiority of their indigenous Type 041's.

Just post it on the WZ10 thread.

a lot of chinese combat aircraft such as J-10 receive technical assisstant from russia.according to Chinese blog ,Yakolev using input from russia equivalent of NASA TsGi redesign the wing, sukhoi also provided techincal help on JH-7A .
in area such as aerodynamic,Russian has wealth of technical experience ,not to mention facilities and infractructure and other support unit.

Most of Russian aerodynamic advancement occurs during Soviet Era. After that , everything collapse. Many Scientist left since no project. I doubt they have continue any research into the nineties. Look at PAKFA shaping, hardly any modern with too much angle exposed , and non in line with proper stealth. If they has such advance study design and experience. T-50 with not has such shaping outcome. Mind you, that suppose to be a top of line Russia 5th fighter. All the best resource from Russia Are pool together. It suppose to represent the best of Russia aerodynamic, research and study.

Those blog reports are taken with a pinch of salt. But I do believe J-10 do receive some assist since it occurs in the mid/late 90s. Chinese is still very weak during that time. But After that experience, I believe China can stand on her own after the mid 2000.

Not to mention China has even more bigger , newer and better facilities for example the new Sichuan huge wind tunnel completed in 2009. Not to mention china far superior supercomputer will aid in further aerodynamic study compare to Russia.

Do you have frontal RCS readings of the PAKFA? How can you even imply it is not stealthy? Again you are making highly exagerrated assumptions!
