on the Luojia-3 observation satellite and the eventual Orient Smart Eye constellation, which can provide users (through a smartphone app) with near real-time image and video feeds of specific locations.

The first phase of the project consists of a Luojia-3 01 satellite (already launched) and two hyperspectral satellites (to be launchd soon). The performance indicators will surpass those of Sentinel-2 (Europe) and Ladsat-8/9 (USA).

Wuhan University's intelligent remote-sensing radar satellite Luojia-2 01 is scheduled to be launched on May 21, 2023. The satellite has several imaging modes such as multi-angle imaging, spotlight imaging, strip imaging, and video imaging. The highest resolution is 0.5m when in spotlight mode, and the resolution of multi-angle mode is 1m.

Some slides on the Luojia-3 01 that was launched earlier.

Luojia-3 01 can perform on-orbit intelligent processing of remote sensing images according to end user requirements. The on-orbit test results show that the satellite's real-time dynamic tracking and detection accuracy of typical targets (aircraft, ships, etc.) in the region of interest (4k, 3840×2160 pixels) is better than 90%, and the processing time is better than 1 second. Luojia-3 01 is part of the Orient Eye constellation which will consist multiple intelligent remote sensing satellites (0.3m resolution, revisit every five minutes + 5m-resolution hyperspectral imaging with revisit every five days) to provide real-time monitoring of the entire planet and place that power into the hands of industries and private users.

(ECNS) -- China's Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) - one of the country's key national science and technology infrastructure facilities, passed national acceptance procedures on Wednesday evening, hoping to reveal athe origin of cosmic rays, a century-old mystery.

Composed of over 20 experts, the national acceptance committee concluded that LHAASO's indicators meet or exceed the approved acceptance criteria.

The acceptance committee stated that LAHHSO has become the world's most sensitive ultra-high-energy gamma-ray detection facility, the most sensitive survey telescope for very high-energy gamma-ray sources, and the widest energy coverage ultra-high-energy cosmic ray stereoscopic measurement system.

LAHHSO has become one of the three major international experimental facilities in particle astrophysics. This achievement is of great significance in making major breakthroughs in the field, driving the development of frontier interdisciplinary studies, and fostering international cooperation.

It takes more than 13 years from the concept of the large facility to its operation, according to the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

LHAASO launched its first set of detectors and began scientific observation of very high energy cosmic rays in April 2019. Full-scale detection began trial operation in July 2021. Overall performance has proven reliable, and it possesses long-term stable scientific operational capabilities.

LHAASO is one of China's major national science and technology infrastructure projects and is located in the Mt. Haizi National Reservation at 4,410 meters above sea level. The project was approved as part of the country's “12th Five-year Plan” (2011-2015).

that explores inflatable lunar habitats. Inflatable habitats represent one of the three major approaches to building permanent habitats on the Moon. The other two approaches are 1) rigid (usually metal) pre-fabricated habitats and 2) building habitats in situ using lunar soil as construction material.

Rigid metal habitats are severely constrained by launch weight and launch cost considerations; they must be small and light enough to fit inside a rocket fairing. In situ construction is technically very challenging, so ideally it should be attempted after a human presence on the Moon has already been established. This brings us to inflatable habitats, which have superior volume utilization (space-efficient packing), are light weight and therefore cheaper to launch.

The engineering prototype explored in this paper features collapsable composite bulkheads bookended by two rigid endplates. The entire skeleton is collapsed vertically for space-efficient packing. The skeleton is covered by a flexible outer shell that consists of more than a dozen layers in order to provide protection against micro-meteor strikes as well as the harsh lunar environment.
