Question to the SDF moderators (I didn't post in the suggestion area because I didn't see a separate thread there to do this):

Now with the creation of the People's Liberation Army Aerospace Force/PLA Space Force, could we create a separate topic for the Chinese military space program, separating it from the civilian one?

I even wanted to suggest this creation before, but now with the formation of the new separate branch for the space force we could also create a separate topic just for the Chinese military space program.

Yaogan-42 02 was launched by a Long March 2D rocket earlier today. This was the 517th flight of the Long March series.

Some updates on Long March 9 as well as space-based solar power station (SSPS) given by Mr. Long Lehao (龙乐豪) during his latest talk:
– Long March 9 will first fly in 2032 or later. The first stage will be powered by YF-215 engines (200-ton full-flow staged combustion cycle, LOX/Methane fuel).
– The YF-215 has already passed technical verifications and accumulated some 1,000 seconds of test runs.
– The first stage will definitely be reusable.
– Long March 9 will be used to build SSPS. China will build a 10-megawatt SPSS by 2035 and a gigawatt-level SPSS by 2050. R&D on SSPS is making very promising progress.

Meanwhile, also at Jiuquan, satellite imagery suggests Tianbing has begun construction of a launchpad for its Tianlong-3 launch vehicle:

Possible landing pad spotted about 3km away from the launchpad being built by LandSpace at Jiuquan.
