These backronyms, we have truly started copying the Americans now...
You can not not-copy as long as it is presented in English. It is like Telephone being an English "copy" from Greek, 自动车 being a Japanese "copy"of Chinese. The native speaker of that language can always say it is a "copy" of their idea no matter who created the thing. ;)

Venus Volcano Imaging and Climate Explorer or
most likely (Venus) Volcano Imaging and Climate Explorer, in the same way as AIDS being Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome where two letters from one word are used in the acronym.
Ah, the "Imaging" was absent, that explains it now.

The post that you referred to missed Imaging. Here is the official source

Just being nitpicky here, but they could've named it just a little neater along the lines of "Venus Volcano Observation, Imaging and Climate Explorer" such that there's a specific word for every letter in the acronym, instead of scrambling the "Vo-" from "Volcano" to make it work... Anyway.

hehe, isn't observation and imaging redundant to one another? One way or the other there is an imperfection.

Another "worse" example is U.S. Navy SEAL - Sea Air Land or Sea Air Land. The worst being POTUS that even "of" and "the" are used in the abbreviation which is against the convention. :D

I mean, it's either POTUS or PUS... in capitals as if that isn't apparent enough. I understand why they went with the former lol.

On October 7, a Long March 11 carrier rocket successfully lofted two satellites into predetermined orbit. The launch took place at sea, approximately three kilometers from the coast. The two satellites are Beidou Low Orbit Navigation Augmentation test satellites (S5 and S6). This launch is the 441st launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles.

The recently launched S5 Beidou Low Orbit Navigation Augmentation satellite uses China's first variable-power Hall-effect thrusters. The LHT-40 thrusters has a power output range of 100 to 300W and are performing normally. LHT-40 is expected to be widely used in low orbit commercial satellites in the future.
