Maybe CN learn from USA-193 and choose to put the optical telescope and the radar on differents satellite instead of one....
The history of the idea of merging radar and optical imaging in reconnaissance satelites is much longer than the history of USA-193.
Maybe we can say that USA-193 was a failed techical demonstration of this idea, but what China surely learned from USA-193 is just the news that US Navy tried and failed. Technically the Gaofen-35 system has nothing to do with USA-193.
China designed their own satellite sensing system based on multiple satellites. In this model the developers have their own challanges to face, such as calibration of coordinates, image pattern matching, data synchronization, algorithm of resolution adaption, etc. So this is a great technical challenge and progress.
btw., Many Americans are proud of their network, software and semiconductor technologies, and they did mass spy on the world, even on their ally nations, via the PRISM system or something sort of.
But when talking about the 'China intrusions and theftings', the technical superiority of the US in network intrusion and espionage is soon described as their Achilles heel.
This is a very funny propaganda tactic to demonize China.
Honestly, I'm not criticizing your remarks, but just expressing my opinion about the United States.
