This is fantastic, Philippines can now be in the position to do the strategy I always wanted for developing countries. Neutrality and playing both sides in order to extract maximum benefit for the development of their own country. If they play this right, Philippines will become very prosperous in the future.

With this recognition from the US, for me it means that the Biden administration focus is now in Europe. Why? the Ukraine War is heading for a Russian victory, the Collective West need to consolidate as their self inflicted wounds are getting bigger. It takes time and maybe the EU may disintegrate so the American is needed to act as a stabilizer.

And from the Global South we have seen through the Machiavellian scheme of the Collective West, why involves us? China is our neighbor, we had lived through century of peace and now you're saying that she is a threat....lol You the Collective West who just enslaves last century ago.

@Coalescence Bro it's a brave new World....hehehe the positive vibes of the Ukraine War. Okay, War is bad there's no question about it BUT aftermath and the Collective West action is an eye opener for us here in the Global South, the few like me and you had been vindicated, the Western Imperialism is real, the mask had been ripoff revealing a hegemonic intent. The Identity politics mentality that are pervasive in the Collective West had been shattered by the Russian action and the western MSM are puzzled why we support the Russian instead of condemning, they had been captured by their owned narrative instead of accepting reality.

Now the Collective West need to compete and its either put up or shut up, there are alternatives out there who are more sympathetic, more humane and are more respectful to our needs. If you can't compete and are scheming it's better to stay out and leave us alone, you interlopers are the reason for our woes and you're not needed here.

No way. After all the hissy fits with regards to the Solomons, you can bet they will try to undermine the new Filipino government as much as possible.
@gelgoog yes BUT with what, economic sanction? we trade more with China, SK , Japan and within ASEAN. And we hold the most strategic pieces of Real Estate in Asia. They can't do a Colored Revolution with 60% majority and IF they want destabilization can the oligarch elite endure it? Who will loss fortune and prestige IF there is a violent upheaval? Surely those elite can't endure a week without eating their favorite Wagyu beef can they...lol

Seems like the US couldnt find a Asian Ukraine in ASEAN nations, you still have Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

They will just indirectly fund unrest in the Muslim areas of the country and try to put a military junta in place. Would not be the first time it happened. If a color revolution fails, they will go for a military coup.
Marawi style where an ISI inspired group of apparently 1000 fighters let loose on that city where Philippine military along with elements from PNP Special Action Force (SAF) were deployed and engaged those radical elements for 5 long months of urban slugfest.

Military coup in the Philippines only occurred or more successful during the tenures of 2 female Presidents (Corazon Aquino, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo) if am not mistaken.

@gelgoog bro in what region Sulu? Jolo? those are frontier Islands on the southern tip of Mindanao, the Marawi incident had demolished the whole cadre of Islamism leadership and Duterte decisiveness is the key. Right now BARMM project is ripping result and BBM had friendly relationship with both the MILF and MNLF and their supporters vote overwhelming for him. So the muslim card is a NO GO.

Regarding Coup you know the majority of the military personnel, mid ranking and high ranking officers vote for the Tandem. IF a coup is launch in MM , BBM can just go to Laoag or Davao to govern. Imperial Manila is defanged, its just one of a city in the Philippine cause both BBM and SDC lived in the provinces and their bailiwicks will protect them. In this election you can see how regionalism is a factor, as BBM had strong support in Northern , Central and part of Southern Luzon , while SDC hold the Visayas and the whole of Mindanao. Their combined force is the reason for the huge margin of victory. So another NO GO.

I think the only option for the US is either to reconciled themselves and work with us, or put up and shut up! Another option is Hopism. Praying for some big mistake and capitalized. Their agent movement in the Philippine like the church, the catholic schools and the elite establishment had been discredited, their movement is like that of Antifa, They're few in numbers BUT loud as hell with some help from the extreme faction of the Communist movement. Their unholy alliances with the REDS shows how unpopular they are and its unbelievable that the US will supported it.
