@timepass,

Is the purpose of the 'automobile city' to import from China for local sale?

Currently, what is Pakistan's main export to China and what do you foresee could be exported to China via the new corridor?

If we consider Gwadar as a hub and door port for Central Asia to Africa and the ASEAN, then the project will bear significant strategic meaning to Pakistan, PRC and the regional countries.

As for regional countries, let's talk about the elephant in the room. Gwadar's win-win for China and Pakistan, but it upsets India. If China's aim is to make India a stakeholder in the BRI (belt and road initiative), then it needs to address Indian economic and security concerns. One way is to convince Pakistan to involve India in Gwadar developments, but that might be a bridge too far right now. Something needs to be done to bring India aboard though.

Yes indeed, there are lot commercial & industrial activities are linked in & created lot of job opportunities...
Though the main benefits will be start coming in when the projects will be fully functional as there are lots of projects are under construction....

The focal point of this investment is...its started appearing on ground as a realty & increasing further support & sympathy towards the China as a brother country to the nation....

Not like so called previous investments from other powers which remained only on papers or in media & ended up in corrupt leadership hands (basically were given to just fulfill there on vested interests instead of the betterment of the daily lives of people of Pakistan)....
In deed. The full potential and benefit to the commoners will reveal when factories and logistic hubs are built along the road network, when they are connected to the power grid, when people can begin to work in these factories. Then commoners will be able to earn a decent income, the economical machine will begin to run in full speed.

Infrastructure building is always the first step, a risky high investment step that does not give immediate benefit, but if well done will guarantee a bright future.

Salute to everyone who devote to CPEC.

As a foreigner investor, whether to involve India in Gwadar development guess PRC has to respect the willing of local government. Should India be truly interested in the project, he should express his intention to Pakistan directly. Besides, India already has good sea ports in its west coast; there should be no reason to get involved in the Gwadar development. That's my two-cents.

Kindly refer to my post # 308, ECO countries (10) are all shown their desire & commitment to join CPEC concluded today in Islamabad while Russia already announced his intention to join.

We have heard the talks of collaboration between Russian's Eurasian economic zone and China's OBOR. We now see ECO joining CPEC. There is also the talk of economical cooperation within SCO. Many of these countries are members of more than one organizations.

I sense that a pan-Eurasian economic zone is forming that stretch from eastern Europe (Russia and Belarus) to western pacific coast, from the Arctic coast to the Indian ocean. That is huge. I wish it goes well.
