Historic, yes. But strategic? (and so important to be so publically mentioned) IMO no.

Using both of historic and strategic I think it indicates H-20

It would be very interesting if it is the H20. Wasn’t the main thread previously saying that the physical form of the H20 since no evidences exist yet?

Tho I do wonder why they would publicly announce such a test if it was the H20. I suppose if it runs on the tarmac it would have been visible to satellites.

Dunno. Maybe I am spoiled so much that only H-20 deserves to much praise and publicity in my mind.

But yeah, the moment H-20 makes any kind of movement, sats would have already picked it up

The first sentence seems more important than what the title first says

China is planning to conduct a flight test for an important type of aircraft that has crucial strategic and historic significance

The word “crucial” strategic is quite the heavy word in putting the significances of this flight test. How strategically crucial is an aircraft carrier jet? Now an J35 or J15 carrier based jet would be strategically important but is enough to be crucially strategic.

Revising what I previously said, I find it hard to believe carrier jets would be a major game changer for China overall strategy. Tho it could extend the fighting capabilities in the South China Sea but I don’t think that’s an very important front in an overall conflict.
