It seems the J-15B's engines will still be on that vodka time.
J-15B or T engine is not yet confirmed. but it is very much possible that they will use WS-10 variant.

these are very minor details. if we talk about this, then even US import a lot parts from EU/Japan. France purchased EMALS and many subsystems from USA/UK. Russia too import chips and electronics.

the main point is, these 4 countries are capable to produce all complex military hardwares.

point to be noted. SIPRI has taken 2016-2020 time period. Percentage is 92 percent.

but in 2022, China produce every single military industrial thing by himself.

so can we say this, only USA , China , Russia and France have complete military industrial complex. though Russia is dependent on semiconductor imports.
The US "imports" a fair bit still.

The F-35 is joint; the Constellation-class is licensed; the Nulka decoy launcher is Australian; the MAAWS is Swedish; one of the MRAPs is South African; the engines on the C-130 is supplied by Rolls Royce; the M27 for the USMC is supplied by H&K, and the XM5 and M17 for the Army produced by Sig's US subsidiary, and the M246 by FN US etc... Just to name a few off the top of my head.

So I'm not sure if you'd call that a 'complete' MIC where those systems are concerned.

EDIT: Oh and the San Antonio's engines are French, from SEMT.

well its true. France , Russia too import a lot.

i was reading SCMP article related this News. one Chinese expert says, “Globally, apart from China, there are only the US, Russia and France doing well in weapons self-reliance,” he said. “And China might be able to score even higher than the US, which heavily relies on its allies to supply some key weapons parts.”

interesting statement about Chinese military industrial complex.

And this thanks to the totally ban/boycott from western countries selling any weapon to China after Tiananmen 1989

These four countries can generally produce most military equipment by themselves, but probably only China can claim to be close to 100% self sufficient. One can imagine that US quietly sources from other countries many critical parts. Here is the American dependency on Chinese rare earths exposed.

It makes sense for the US to import from their allies, in fact, that is one of the reasons for maintaining those relationships. The only reason China has to be 100% self-sufficient is because it lacks a global network of allied countries with advanced economies capable of specializing in certain technological areas.

I believe China already has a core of talented young scientists, engieers, researchers and have the estalblishments state and private for them to do innovative works. Some of them returned from overseas to serve the country. It's not uncommon your ' allies' turn aganst you. These young people in China are motivated and devoted although the salaries are low, they work hard to ensure a powerful and prosperous China. No country can intimidate China, no one can apply sanctions to China. China can sustain herself without outside help in science and techology, space techology, aero techology and warships and fighter jets. China will excel in many, many fields that other countries can only dream of....

The first footage of the test flight of the new Chinese stealth reconnaissance and strike UAV CH-7 has appeared. Outwardly, the CH-7 resembles the American reconnaissance drone RQ-170 Sentinel. In 2011, the US lost one such drone in western Afghanistan, and Iran later announced that they had the drone. The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation commented on the similarity with the RQ-170 as follows: "The capabilities of the CH-7 are far superior to the American drone RQ-170 and are close in their characteristics to the RQ-180." The length of the CH-7 is 10 m, the wingspan is 22 m, the maximum takeoff weight is 13 tons. The UAV flight altitude is over 10 km, the speed is 900 km/h, the flight time is 15 hours.

That's if you believe China isn't already there and the US is just using smokes and mirrors, all war is based on deception.
