China's 2012 military export data

It would be nice if instead of a simple dollar figure of export worth, one could compare this to the exports of other countries and to total investments.
As a rough estimate, Tansania, Zambia and Namibia seem very much Chinese equipped.
Bangladesh invests less, but seems to be an importer from China to a similar degree of their equipment composition as Pakistan.

^^ Yup, if you look at just the air-force, then the cranked-delta wing F-7PG, that came under Pakistan Air Force specifications, has also been procured by Bangladesh. The A-5C Fantans were operated by Pakistan Air Force, and like wise, Bangladesh also operates A-5Cs. They even have the F-7P version operating. But that as far as it goes, when it comes to Chinese combat aircraft. We will have to wait and see whether they, Bangladesh, would look to replace their MiG-29 Fulcrums with JF-17 Thunders.

Due to recent political situation in Egypt, the US had suspended military aid and arms exports. The Egyptians signed a $2 billion arms deal with Russia this month, including 24 MiG-29-M2 valued at 1.3 billion Euros ($1.7 billion USD). That's roughly $70.8 billion per MiG. I suspect this batch of MiG's may be the same ones that were ordered earlier by Syria, but Russia could not deliver due to the arms embargo.

Egypt had originally ordered 20 x F-16 block 52 for $2.2 billion. However, due to Israeli opposition, the US had refused to sell AIM-120 to Egypt, so they will only equip the AIM-7. Also, I believe the planes are downgraded to remove certain air to ground attack modes. However, the US has stopped deliveries of F-16's to Egypt.

Perhaps now is an opportunity for China to export arms to Egypt, and Pakistan to push the JF-17 deal.

I think JF-17 to Egypt was a done deal until the regime change a couple of years ago. Not sure where things are at now though.
