Interesting, the J-11BS taking part in the Changchun Air Sow has the serial number 66560 and is as such from the rarely seen 55th Air Brigade at Jining (Jiaxiang FS), Wuhan Base under the CTC.
Also noteworthy, it is cn. 0606.

Funny anecdote. OP asked a PLAAF official present where are the J-16s and he tried to fool her by pointing to a J-11BS. Then she said but this one has pitot tube and the official was stunned and exclaimed: yikes you even knew this little detail?

Sorry for posting only links, but I'm a bit in a hurry! ... but I'm surprised!

Does that mean there are fresh J-11BGs rolling straight out of Shenyang after the J-11B production (and related variants before AESA upgrade) concluded in mid or late-2010s?

In the meantime, aren't all the land-based Sino Flankers in production right now being only J-16s?
