Well okay, apparently they didn't actually ban it, just discouraging producers from writing such (crap) scripts:
Personally, having watched the recent drama "Palace", which featured a modern girl going back in time to the Qing dynasty, AND THEN NEVER MAKING THAT AN ISSUE AGAIN UNTIL THE VERY END, I say, good on them!
The government does need to step in to protect the public from craptastic scripts such as the above. Really, that show was an abject mockery that had nothing to do with Sci-Fi. It was a period-piece costume romance drama that had a totally unnecessary element of time travel in it (just to be original, I guess).
And you know what else is objectionable in those shows? The ridiculous worship of the Emperor. Whatever happened to old plots where the Emperor was the Big Bad Guy and needed to be killed, instead of being worshiped by a bunch of beautiful manipulative women all scheming to gain his favor.
Huh... on second thought, maybe that's a fate worse than death....
