Well they always have been like that. Look at Ben Shapiro and what he thinks about foreigners and foreign actors who dare defy "godly" righteous USA, Israel's 1st and foremost henchman. How many lives he thinks is expendable for 1 American soldier invading foreign lands to force their "rules based order" upon everyone.

For better or worse we should also remember that these guys already beat Japan in WW2 and beat it dead but they still wanted to test a uranium design bomb and a plutonium one on major cities with mostly civilian population. No qualms or really any care for life that isn't white and isn't a follower of their "rules based order".

They have wanted to nuke China since their masters realised the Chinese are not playing their game and staying within the paddock they built for China. Sino Soviet split -> capital going into China -> realising CPC won't be playing their game -> reverse policy on China.

Considering the fact that the US seriously considered attacking Chinese nuclear forces in the 60s, I would not be surprised if such plans still exist up to the early 2000s. However, given the development of Chinese second strike capabilities, it would be suicidal for the US to actually put those plans into action.

There was that story a few weeks back that polled around 30% of Americans just want China militarily attacked to show who's boss. No provocation by China needed. That's how much desperate Americans feel they're losing control of a world that doesn't belong to them in the first place. Can you imagine what they would say if Chinese said that about the US?

So from this, we can assume that 20 DF-5s can cause 82-160 million American casualties. DF-41s and DF-31s are not even accounted for in this simulation.

IMO, China needs to be able to ensure that it can deliver at least 20 high yield warheads to the US. 200 silos would not be enough for this unless the PLARF is capable and authorized to launch on warning, assuming that 4% of all silos would survive. 500-600 silos are needed for such a strike.

Alternatively, China can build missiles with larger mobile ICBMs capable of delivering larger warheads/more MIRVs.

Good. That should scare some of the smarter policy makers in the USA. Nevertheless, for the morons, like the people in the Republican Party, this is not enough. They might not read or be able comprehend this. What they need to know is not the just the horrors of nuclear war. But that China's nuclear arsenal is way bigger than the 200-300 warhead quoted figure.

I believe that the conservative Americans have a lower threshold of horror for nuclear genocide on a non-Caucasian population. China has to live with that reality. These people don't respect cultural diversity. These people only respect strength. Better to have over-kill strength that roughly approaches America's strength than to be appearing 'weak' and giving them the audacity to tempt fate.

If anything, it makes me feel better about perpetrating war crimes on the american civilian population in the event of war.
