Can forums use the Google Translate API?

I was wondering why forums don't have Google Translate integrated.

Is this a limitation of the forum platforms or does Google not allow it?

For a stop gap solution, I'd say if you use Chrome as your go-to browser, go install the 'Google Translate' extension.

it's not for me. but there are members who keep posting in other languages.

the forum could auto-detect in the text editor and force output in english.

it would also help posting articles from other languages like chinese journals etc.
