I think only Vietnam will break through. It has a decently hardworking workforce, a government that can force through changes because of authoritarianism. Also it benefits from proximity to China, relative lack of secessionist threats. It has a very strong renewable energy policy backed by feed in tariffs and is one of the world hotspots for offshore wind projects - government is very enthusiastic about it. With 100 million people and decent governmental policy, it should be a middle power by 2050.

I think so too

Vietnam's education scores are also very high
After all, Vietnam was part of the Confucian Sinosphere for millennia

@Crang Yes the only country in ASEAN that fought and won against the American, so they control their own destiny while the rest of us in the region can't as our former colonizer will not cut the leash that bind us to their will.

If you want your freedom you have to fight for it there is no free lunch, India is fortunate cause UK is tired and had weakened, they can't hold on and granting independence in a way to skirt its responsibility of economic development and assistance.

Any sort of the Irian Jaya business flaring up will push Jakarta into a full blown alliance with Beijing.
@Skywatcher Sir here lies the problem, AUKUS is a mafia organization and Australia is the henchman. Their stated goal of containing China is a ruse, the objectives are the peripheries. In these intense geopolitical competition, ASEAN is ripe for the picking, its a stalemate with the US having Singapore as allies while China had Cambodia the main player are sitting on the sideline. Here is where Australia comes in to tilt the situation to their favor and Indonesia is a prime target cause the two interest align. Beijing non interference is a double edge sword, it may garner her friends but alliances is impossible until China change her policy.

You don't fight a peer opponent you fought the weaker one.

This guy should quit sports and become a comedian because he is one of the biggest virtue-signaling jokes I've ever seen.
The dude is a waste of space in the NBA; an attention seeking bleep. And because he's of Turkish nationality and an active NBA player for some bleeping reason most Pravda propagandists in America are giving his stupid geopolitical takes on China some legitimacy. But when LeBron James speaks on issues he cares and is passionate about, super nationalist folks like Laura Ingraham loves to tell James to shut up and dribble. Essentially telling athletes to stay in their lane of expertise. Which goes to show how politicize the Americans have become that they could no longer smell hypocrisy and ignorance at the same time. The use of Java lookin Enes Kanter is a prime example of this. What a sad and pathetic display of American perfidy.

And yet we are so different from Chimpanzees... despite this 0.01% difference.
If it's a social construct I shouldn't be able to tell the difference between people from Sweden and Congo, yet I can discern that difference 100% of the time.
It's obviously genetic. And those superficial things aren't the only differences either.

Apparently only 'liberals' can read English. Re-read what I wrote:

Yes, empirically, you can detect phenotypical differences, but do these phenotypical differences matter? NO THEY DON'T.

My theory is that Koreans ultranationalists want to focus on ethnocentric blood kinship to remind themselves of their genetic superiority despite centuries of rape, pillage, and occupation.

So what are you pointing out the obvious when I already said phenotypical differences exist and can be empirically measured? The question is whether they matter.

I just hate seeing Western Anglo propaganda regurgitated (and it really is only a Western upper class nonsensical thought process you are regurgitating here, albeit unintentionally probably).
and I hate seeing "Altaicism" and "Halogroup" propaganda pushed by Turkic and Korean ultranationalists to push their nationalistic agenda.

The reason why we HAN CHINESE are so successful we embrace genetic diversity (this isn't your liberal bullshit). We don't give a shit about "Halogroup" differences, because we are all ethnic Han Chinese at the end of the day. Only Koreans/Turkish nationalists push their "Altaicism" and "halogroup" theories for their own nationalist purposes. (namely, Korean nationalists want to be associated with Manchus/Mongols to claim their glory (e.g. Conquest of China), and be 'originators' of Japanese people to take credit for Japanese economic success).

I have had dreams of Australia eventually getting into a real fight with China and losing quite badly and given how Australia has repeatedly been poking China none stop and lying none stop about China, I am starting to think that this may become a reality. I swear the media is an extreme liability to the nation of Australia and this is one of the elements that needs to be gotten rid of
Well Chinese people again are the target what is China waiting for ? They have perfect excuse to send in Liaoning, Shandong and all those type 75 LHD But of course Beijing does not do anything " non interference of other country domestic" or excuse not to do anything You COWARD!
