Beijing is having the coldest winter for decades. My wife told me her flight into Beijing the other day, was nearly diverted to Shanghai. It managed to land with the airport temporarily closing down a few hrs later.

I hope our politicians and big corporate bosses have far sights for the next generations of childrens instead of trying to protect their own interests. I hope but I do not expect them to act to cut down carbon emmission, I never trust politicians and rich business people.

The signs of climatic instability due to global warming is getting obvious as time passed by. Hurricans, Snow storms, floods, dust storms, icebergs breaking off, glaciers drying up seem to be occuring quite frequent now.

I think what the global warming hypothesis suggests is that the warming of the planet would melt the arctic ice, which adds huge amount of fresh water into the oceans and disrupt the ocean current, which will then make the Northern Hemisphere cold and southern hemisphere hot. Well, in order for this to work, the arctic ice has to melt and the ocean current has to change. We are seeing some ice melting, but not extensive enough to change the ocean current, which is still flowing the right direction. This means the ocean is still bringing the warm water to the North and cold water to the South. So this cold weather is not caused by global warming and is simply a normal fluctuation of the weather.

Remember the movie 'The Day After Tomorrow' ?
Heck yea. That's today. Everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere is getting hit with snow.
Southern China, which use to get down to 8C a couple times a year, is getting hit hard and it's snowing! (And it never snows there.) Even India is frozen.

The only region that seems to be unaffected is here in the Pacific Coast loin, inland to the Rockies and Sierras.

No no no. The Gulf Stream doesn't have to be killed, it just have to be overwhelmed by the Labrador Current. If you can melt enough ice in a short period that the Gulf Stream gets killed..... that's practically a third (just to put a number down) of the ice and the weather would be the least of your worries.
