What is the PLA's standards for eyesight? Why are there rarely any soldiers with glasses?

Better than 4.8 or 0.63 or 20/32 with or without glasses. IDK what system of measurement you're used to.

Way too late to be anything meaningful especially given that in another 5-7 years we would be a whole different beast. By 2030 we should be at absolute parity with the US if not surprassing them in some fields.

Agreed, but China has been working on asymmetrical weaponry that some Americans do not seem to take enough notice.
