they were thinking the more hardware they buy the faster they will reach AGI but they end up with excess compute that they don't know how to use.

Anthorpic and OpenAI's positions are becoming increasingly solidified, the number of players in the second tier is decreasing

We may be witnessing a major layering and consolidation of losers. As capabilities provided by scaffolding are gradually being absorbed and integrated by new models, private data is becoming increasingly important. Just as XAI is trying to make a comeback by acquiring Cursor while leasing computing power, products like Perplexity, which were very popular a couple of years ago but have now clearly declined, are truly facing a final battle. They are facing the predicament of being acquired by second-tier players or going bankrupt.

man this is getting ridiculous, one single prompt and my entire weekly Quota for Fable 5 is burnt and gone.... which is basically everything, since next week it won't be available via subscription and only via API and this single run would have costed $340 USD....

Welcome to the AI Underclass folks!!!!! Where AI is now more expensive than hiring a Jia Hind on Fiverr...

why are you wasting time on this forum complaining about your issue with Anthropic. We don't care. If it's so bad, else Chinese models. Otherwise, stop complaining about it.

Zai just came out with new ZCode and I'm enjoying it with no problem

I had a livestream today with Carl Zha to talk about Chinese AI development

So... Alex Karp on went on CNBC a couple days ago with a 20-minute rant where he just shy of openly admits he thinks America is going to lose the AI race to China, because "investors think they have high IQ" and "both the [American] left and right think we're warlocks walking down the street".

He says a lot, and it's mostly him airing out his resentment of the US AI industry. On China, he more or less says Athropic's claims of Open Weight being dangerous is full of crap because Nvidia also has an open weight model and nothing's happened. He also gives this weird round-about praise of Chinese AI labs by denigrating Chinese AI labs as thieves and cheats, then immediately swinging back around to saying they're lead by rational scientists and bolstered by educated politicians, while in America its talent is eroded by investors who are stupid and politicians who think technology is magic.

Personally this looks more like someone who has not slept properly in weeks, and is hopped up on caffeine or something stronger. Most stimulants don't actually give you energy just suppress your ability to feel tired. Meanwhile the brain, as an organ, shuts down cognitive functions to protect itself in the event of insufficient rest, high stress, or both. In my experience, people who are like this and angry tend to speak their mind as their literal cognitive filters are shutdown.
