Do we know when V4 will be available in the phone app?
There was an update today to the deepseek app that added two new buttons that let you switch between Instant and Expert mode which seem to correspond to the two v4 models that they released, Instant being v4-flash and Expert being v4-pro. So in short they seem to have added support for v4 day one.

Silly me. I forgot to update my app.

I have this update since last week. I asked the model what its latest version/model it spat out: DeepSeek V3 cutoff training was from July 2025.

US: We're going to ban US investments in Chinese AI firms.
PRC: So are we!

All foreign capital into all Chinese companies should need government approval, not just US capital or just technology firms. All joint ventures with Chinese companies should be government approved too. Some Chinese companies are willing to give up critical technologies to gain market access in foreign countries and use joint ventures to do it.

Bottom line is national security must take priority over everything else. Meta acquiring Manus was a major loophole where regulators were reactive instead of proactively anticipating this.

Yes im actually surprised the government didn’t enact such laws much earlier. Since if someone had paid even abi of attention to what manus founders were doing , they could have predicted that they are looking for buyers in the US . It wasn’t exactly a complex thing to think of. So I agree Chinese lawmakers/regulators should be more proactive than reactive in future . Better to anticipate change than react to change
