well, unfortunately Alexandr Wang is part of management position. Whether you consider him Chinese is a different story.

China Unicom signed up to use Huawei's AI stack and it will have 45 EFLOPS in computation by end of this year.
The short answer is no.

One could make a very compelling case that he's one of the lead actors working in the best interests of the US to win the AI war. His own definition of the ultimate goal is the defeat of China in the AI war, so by definition he must lose if China is to win. In that sense, he should not be considered Chinese. Trump is more Chinese than Alexandr Wang, but I won't go into the why of that here since it would be off-topic.

As previously reported, he's a grifter with no real skill who wants all the reward with none of the work.

He's still US-born and vocally anti-China, so I don't consider him Chinese no matter what his appearance or family origin.
He is Chinese, though; just a hanjian, who are all Chinese. Money, fame, talent, decent looks, but wakes up and goes to bed hating himself for what he is everyday to the point of self-subjugation. What a tragic life... destined to have a tragic and ironic ending because he can't save those whom he worships from thier fate of being defeated by his own race.

He fits right in to that part of Western society then.

This guy is obviously a smart kid, but he is also gifted to do well in Western culture that values optics over substances. People who have that "salesperson looks" but do no real work tend to rise quickly in the social economic ladder, whereas people who have opposite traits will just get more work dump on them.

The game of "AI Agent" or "Agentic AI" is way overblown. I actually wrote an MCP agent and server and running in my study room along with DeepSeek-R1-0528-Qwen3-8B model from HuggingFace

Given China tech ecosystems today, we are going to see lots of "Manus hypes" for years to come.
