My initial motive on military field is coming from some introduction on the relative magazines, as in my primary school in Beijing, it was compulsive for every pupil to subsribe a magazine, and my father whose job was a chief-editior thought it was arbitrary collection of fee as pupil cannot understand complex content in such an age. So I didn`t subscribe it and thus been pissed by the faculty. But I didn`t feel too bad, my dad provided me a magazine called “Ordnance Knowledge” (兵器知识) monthly, had more photos and less words than others relatively. I watched not read it, about 2 years before I came to middle school. After frequently watching these kinds of photos, as I didn`t know things behind photos so it made me feel tired always watching the same "furniture show" and wanted to quit. Only one word it pressed in my mind till now is J-8IIM, though I had forgetten its shape, thought to be the most morden fighter of China at that time.
As a result, after those years, I never read it anymore but it brought that old feeling to my mind whenever I tought of it.
Well, on the other hand, I started to play PC games, and of course I had played lots of RTS games.
Here is my favorite list:
Command & Conquers: Red Alert 1995 ---- too classical and is my first, the tank can crashed the troop when you Ctrl+click it, and dogs can eat troops so fast, while A-bomb is really a time-wasting weapon for the waiting time it has.
Age of Empire: The Rerise of Roman--- the war really made me nervus, however the midi BGM really graceful.
Starcraft I : What a trick you can build a unit to lock an aircraft, and the barbaric construction building process of Zerg.
Command & Conquers: Dune 2000---- I have become a fan of WestWood since then.
Command & Conquers 2: Tiberian Sun ---- The vehicle and construction of GDI have much better resistance than ones of NOD.
Warcraft III: Well well, hero and hero skills plays more and more important roles than units.
Command & Conquers: Generals ----- low priced China vihicle against American helicopter packed with troops. EA present, not classical as the ones of westwood, heard a second-generation product will realised next year, who knows.
When I came across the forum randomly, a thought came to mind, anybody here play this kind of games?
Let`s chat on.
