Like all these airlines and other companies, they used all the cash, profits and cheap loans for stock buybacks and lucrative packages for corporate officers. Now they are asking for hand outs.

Correct. Why don't they buy insurance like the rest of us? Now why do I or my children have to bail them out with taxpayer money. They can pay outlandish salary to their executive and they should be able to afford insurance. This is welfare for the rich.

Here's an idea. The government should allocate a few percentage of govt budget for office of taxpayer lobbyist to negate influence of corporate lobbyist.

I have posted here before saying that if the US can't get a handle on the credit markets its going to result in a credit freeze. Meaning people can't get their money out of their bank accounts for one. In the past few days the FED has been throwing the monetary equivalent of atomic bombs. And its not working !

If things continue as its now this will be America's and maybe the world's future:

The economics of chaos. Milton Friedman, Ronald Reagan, and Mrs Thatcher must be turning in their graves. Even J M Keynes I suspect!
