Not sure what Poland has left at this point other than being a low cost auxiliary of Germany. Ukrainian industry got destroyed after 1991 due to privatization and they had like 50% swings in nominal GDP year to year.

Oh, I forgot to mention its not limited to Poland specifically, but to all the other EU countries looking to cut their use of Russian gas for political purpose, and the ridiculous lengths, not to mention the cost they have to go through just to achieve that. This entire geopolitical situation is absurd to me, because why the hell these EU countries went ahead to find trouble for themselves by antagonizing and harming Russia for no bloody reason at all. The only explanation that fits their behavior is their entire establishment is captured by US.
I think their idea, well, the Visegrad group idea, pushed by some people in the US, is to ring fence Russia with a broad coalition of former Warsaw Pact countries now in NATO. Those would be pumped full of weapons and basically cause Russia to go into a massive conventional arms race just to keep up. That is why Poland, and other nations in Europe, started breaking the Conventional Forces in Europe treaty. These countries would also have bases in the Baltic and Black Sea and contest the Russian Navy there. Poland would use incomes on transit through the Yamal pipeline to fund their own rearmament program. Ukraine would do the same with their pipeline. Basically Germany and Italy and other nations in the EU would be paying Russia to pay Poland (and Ukraine) to arm itself against Russia. Sounds almost as good as the Trump plan to build a wall with Mexico and making Mexico pay for the wall no? Except Russia and Germany built the NordStream pipeline, Russia and Turkey built the TurkStream pipeline, and put a kibosh on those plans by bypassing both Poland and Ukraine. Oops.
So these folks are really still operating under the Cold War era logic assumption that they can bankrupt nations through arm race. What a bloody waste of everybody's resources, time and money which could have been better spent on bettering their countries. That's pretty funny though, they really thought Russia would just keep funding their militaries lol

The American so-called political leaders need a primer in "How the Economy Works" from one of their most successful learned people, Ray Dalio. Perhaps they'd learn a thing or two about the basic fundamentals of the economy.

And maybe an additional lesson on geopolitics to better understand the world especially it's economic relationship with China to avoid the needless unproductive trolling that's damaging to the vast majority of Americans.

They should all just buy the game "The Dyson Sphere program" It will learn you the very basic of logistics, commodities, industry supply lines and energy. But don't tell them the game is created by a chinese team :p
