Why is that dude on a paid leave after getting and accepting the position entrusted or forced on Biden to do. If he couldn't fulfill his duties and responsibilities the right thing he could and should have done was to resign and hand the reigns to someone deservedly better for the position. But for political reasons and for Joe Biden to be politically correct he couldn't fire Pete, because of he belongs in a very protected and very influential minority group and he's white at the same time; a potent combo in today's Democratic Party politics.

The American elite class has declined precipitously. They are just LARPing the west wing instead of doing their jobs.
