Nah, there wont be any war between Alipay and WeChat Pay. Both darlings will be conduits for DC/EP rollout, and they will be internationalised because China will push tourists to use them. Just like now in Indonesia, after getting a chinese tourist visa approved, I can deposit IDR from local BCA bank and it will immediately be converted into RMB on my Alipay. The Indonesian gov also permit Chinese tourists to use Alipay/WeChat Pay, with live currency conversion, local merchants get the payment though BCA.

Woah, you can deposit money from BCA to alipay now? How about WeChat pay?

So short-sighted. What happens when China stops buying oil from the Middle East? That's what Obama taunted to the Middle East when bragging about how the US is energy independent. And Saudi Arabia turned on the pumps to cheapen oil to make American fracking not economically feasible. Is the US going to be buying oil when China doesn't? No. China's value to any country in this world even an enemy of China is existing so the US doesn't exploit countries that can't pull out the China card to keep the US at bay. No need to write such an article if everyone could count on the US to be there for them.

How is China's shale gas exploration going along? China has more shale gas than the US, but with existing technology, the geology is too complicated to be economical.

China domestic shale gas production has increased drastically for the last few years especially in Sichuan and Chongqing. Although it would take another decade for China shale gas production to have a major impact.

There will be a huge Q3 rebound due to money printing.
Yeah, but tell that to the 50+ million unemployed and the fact that money printing causes inflation to go up and also that goods in the USA is getting progressively more expensive because of this. Also to note is the all those job loses are permanent
