Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7 is the offensive air and strike component of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 10 and the George H.W. Bush CSG. Ford (CVN 78), departs Naval Station Norfolk for a routine deployment, May 2, 2023. Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group consists of Gerald R. I’ve noticed that the smaller the island, the larger the aircraft carrier appears overall. There probably isn’t much difference between the Nimitz and the Ford, right? But the Ford still seems like it’s a size larger than the Nimitz. The 003 probably because its integrated island combines the chimney and radar and is very tall, so it doesn’t appear very large in proportion.
