Slide 21 on the powerpoint here is as close as we'll get in her service life to see what the magazine and weapons prep areas look like.

Hi Popeye, I remember back in the day you had some reservations regarding the level of automation and lack of people in the loop wrt to weapons handling on the QE class vis-a-vis standard US carrier practice, having seen video of the system in operation changed your views any? A step forward or dangerous over-automation?

The horizontal movement is different than the "conventional" way, by saving two ( maybe three) pair of hands.
It can means maybe six pair of hands saving per elevator IF there is no emergency repair need, only preventive/scheduled.

However as the machines getting aged they will need more and more maintenance person, and the nightmare will be when they have to keep say four full set of maintenance engineers to be able to fix the things when there is high demand for ordnance movement. Specialised, unique skill set.

That can easily negate all expected advantage, without considering that the ordnance movers can be used for other tasks.

But it is way better than the Ford, as it looks like in that case they made angled elevators, each of them differently shaped and requiring special and different skills to make/operate.

Honestly I just guessed because I knew that America did an at sea period in with F-35B Lightning aboard about two years ago. And I know that only ships with the special F-35B electronic wizardry can operate the F-35B. Behold;
