More nice pics.
Like I said...if the Japanese wanted to, or felt they had too, I could see them purchasing 24 F-35Bs and putting 8-10 on each of those vessels.
Ten F-35Bs would be a force, though small, that could not be ignored on the high seas.
Of course, the Wasp calss, and the new America clas are set up to operate up to 20 of them in the Carrier Sea Control role, taking all of the air assault, and amphibious assault troops and equipment off in that even.
20 F=35Bs would also be something that could not bee ignored.
The US is going to be capable of having its eleven full aircraft carriers with F-35s and F/A-18E and F/-18F, and EA-18G aircraft...and then be able to supplement those with as many as four of the Wasp/America class in a sSea Control carrier role anytime they need to. That would be fifteen carriers.
Add two Japanese, to Korean, and two Australian vessels with F-35Bs on them...and you can see the game that the US intends on playing for staying far ahead of anyone else in terms of having overpowering Naval Air aviation assets available.
All of that would make 20 carriers available...and that does not even include the two Royal NAvy carriers or the French carrier if needed.
