Less Assault Ampibious capacity than Wasp, well deck removed to allow more room for aircrafts and aviation fuel 3100 t vs 1200 for a Wasp.
No LCAC/LCU/LCM, Wasp : 3 or 2 or 6
Troops : 1700 vs 1900
Aicrafts :
Wasp : in general 24 helos + 6 AV-8B or 20 AV-8B + 6 helos
America : in general : 25 helos + 6 F-35B or 20 F-35B + 2 MH-60
F-35 more big take more space as AV-8B.
Very close for size, same armament.

Man I remember when the deal was signed down under and the both units are sailing !!

I also remember when JMSDF was building the Hyugas and Izumo wasn't even heard of

How times flown and navy got the flat decks !!
