10th Frontline AF Rgt equiped with J-10

BY the way - and maybe fitting for reports about several regiment (within the 1. and 2. Div) changing their J-10A for B and giving them to other units (like the 18. and 21. Div) - here is a J-10AS spotted over Yanji / Yanbian ... at Yanji the 21. Division, 61. AR is based ! Maybe they gained J-10s ?

Indeed, that's taken at Yanji. Would be interesting to know if they are J-10A or B ?

Nothing special GE with customized icons for aircrafts types, more nice and easy to look, initialy KMZ files from "SOC" udapted with Navy also and i have it for all main AF and Navies in the world, only or almost combat units.

So 3 new J-10 Rgts with 2nd Rgt/5th Div but in fact logic we don't have new units which have transitionned since end 2013 IIRC and work with production number.

And same for JH-7A or B ? no news, thinking replace Q-5

three regiments sounds about right, given the number of produced j10b so far. We should be seeing 3 additonal regiments worth of j10b/c every two years.

If only we could know for sure if they're going to j10a units first, or if they're replacing j7e/g units or even if they're going to j7II units (unlikely).

I really wish there was some way of knowing how many old J7II are still in service...

Possibly even a few j8 units could be replaced by j10b, since j11 production seems to be on a hiatus until D model is ready. J16 may replace them, of course, but there are many J8 units to be replaced, original su27 are getting old (so far some 40-50 of original russian deliveries have been retired, if scramble is to be believed) and J16 may also need to replace some Q5 which are getting long in the tooth.

JH7B seems to be, for all intents, a dead project. There are still lots of H6 to be replaced, a lot of Xian's resources will go into Y20 programme, and by the time all that's finished the new bomber should emerge ready for production.

Not to nitpick, but I think that the older J-10As are probably better suited the task of interception. I can see J-10Bs replacing Q5s and J-7s and J-16s replacing JH-7As.

jh7 dont really urgently need replacement. first 50 or so are now 22-25 years old. Considering they're naval strike planes, they should have less stress on their aiframes. They should easely live to 30 or more years of service. All other jh7 are 15 or less years old now.

J10a is definitely better suited as an interceptor. Which i believe they will replace j7 and possibly some j8 in some units.

For JH-7 and mainly A used by AF exact Totoro don't need replacements and JH-7 are only in 2 Rgts used by Navy.

Same main mission for both J-10 A2A combat.
For Ground attacks : Q-5 A2G- Attack/CAS so short range for interdiction and others in more able for interdiction Su-30MKK, JH-7A and new J-16* in service ? Su-30 and J-16 are ofc also able for air superiority but mainly used for Bombing.
Huitong put J-16 in attack aircraft category.

But JH-7A always build now ?

Thinking the J-10 which is the modern build in the big number is the more logic successor of the J-7 which is used by 26 on 77 combat Rgts 1/3
