Russia's Il-76 production line is currently under loaded. And there is a tanker variant of the Chinese Y-20 as well.
So it is not like there aren't any other options other than the A330 MRTT.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu noted that the experience gained during the special operation helps Russia in military-technical cooperation with Algeria, and also made it possible to compare domestic and Western weapons in the case.

The Minister also noted that today colleagues from Algeria came with proposals for further development of military-technical cooperation with Russia. Both sides have already discussed these issues, and Russia has much to share in terms of experience in using the weapons discussed.

That leak makes way more sense than previous bullshit that was flying around claiming the tanks would be sent directly to Ukraine.
Morocco had always been pretty much aligned with the US to begin with since they are next door to Algeria. Cyprus is in the EU, but they are being idiots if they accept this deal, they have a history of conflict with Turkey, back when they needed it Russia was basically the only country willing to help them.

Didn't Morocco state the tanks sent to Ukraine were only intended to be refurbished in Poland and Poland somehow sent those tanks over without Morocco's consent?

Doesn't this show the game even more...
