Yesterday the AVIC NEWS reported the advances in Chinese laser gyroscope strapdown inertial navigation systems for both military aircrafts and missles.

惯性导航系统为飞机导航定位、目标探测、飞行操纵提供基准信息,它的性能直接影响飞机的性能和武器命中精度,是飞机名副其实的“眼睛”。因此,惯性导航技术是国防关键高精技术,历来属于西方国家严格控制出口的技术之一。上世纪90年代初,我国的航空惯性导航技术突破国外重重技术壁垒,开始进入工程化、产业化阶段。

工作伊始,雷宏杰敏而好学、敢想敢干的工作作风为万象待新的惯性导航科研工作注入了青春朝气。初出茅庐的他虚心求教、刻苦钻研,很快练就了扎实的理论功底和出色的科研技术能力,迅速从青年技术人员中脱颖而出。入所不久,他开始承担国家一些重大型号项目的研制工作。

2000年,雷宏杰接到了为某重点型号导弹配套研制某组合导航系统的重任。作为项目主管的他,常常与课题组成员加班至深夜,认真分析论证每一个方案的可行性,仔细讨论确认每一个数据的准确性;在加工试验过程中,他协调加工进度,落实试验准备工作,制定解决预案,排除试验故障。哪里要抢进度,哪里要改设计,何时要做试验,何时要做分析,无一不在这位年轻项目主管的运筹帷幄之中。
An INS for an important missile type began in 2000.

2000年到2005年,雷宏杰带领的课题组先后攻克了导弹惯导动基座传递对准、惯导在线仿真技术等多项关键技术,顺利完成了该系统的配套研制工作。经多轮导弹打靶试验验证,该系统性能达到国内同类产品领先水平。目前,该系统已完成设计定型并进入批量生产阶段,年产量不断翻番,创造出非常可观的产值。
From 2000 to 2005, this INS succeeded after many cycles of live fire trials. Now this type of missles is in serial production with a very significant quantity.

“十一五”期间,雷宏杰作为研究室技术负责人,主持研制了我国新型航空用激光捷联惯性导航系统。在研制期间,他先后解决了激光陀螺控制与解调、激光捷联惯导高精度标定、快速对准、系统动态误差补偿等多项关键技术,使系统的性能指标达到国际同类产品的先进水平。该系统的研制成功,将我国航空惯性导航系统的水平提升到了一个新的高度,缩短了与西方先进国家的差距。设计定型后的激光捷联惯性导航系统成为我国新一代军用飞机首选的配套设备,装备应用于我国多个军机型号,为我国航空武器装备的更新换代奠定了基础,而他也在重点项目中不断历练和成长
in "11th Five Years"(after 2005), a Laser gyroscope SINS has been developed and achieved the quality of similar foreign products. This Chinese laser SINS has been certified and used in many military aircrafts and will be the first choice for the next generation Chinese fighter planes.

recall back in 70's and early 80's,most of commercial aircraft sold to China, are fitted with conventional mechanical gyrosope,due to Laser INS dual technology,US refuse to release the technology,And
by the late the 80's Xian developed prototype laser INS,(the russian also make similiar breakthrough)but Chinese laser INS may have suffer from ,what the engineer call "locking" or equivalent "hanging' in your PC.( US engineer also encounter similiar problem)it was not in the early 90's they manage to overcome this problem.
By then when US did realized it they change there position.
