this one may belong to the member's room. but i think it's better to put here. it's a very good soldier figure. 1/35, simulating the defence of shanghai in 1937. it's a german geared soldier holding up a nationalist army flag charging with a japanese army flag on the ground. the nationalist army DID give the japanese a lot of damage at the time. too bad they could keep it up.....

The Battle of Shanghai was sure a tragedy. We fought so hard yet lost due to bad commanders.

Yeah I know that the Nationalists in WWII had German made uniforms and weapons for some of their units, and more of them has similar uniforms.

Although I have no flattering words for many KMT commanders, they simply weren't an issue in Shanghai. There was no way in hell China was able to hold Shanghai back then. It's simply a matter of the the reality of the situation.

Yeh, I bet the Civil Wars, were already giving them a hell of a time. I bet the lack of competent people and equipment also attirbuted to it.

The KMT had German weapons in name only, unless you happen to be referring to a handful of submachine guns. A German division had more firepower than the entire combined Chinese Army, KMT or CCP.

Wow, I never knew Germany had units inside China fighting against the Japanese. Amazing what you can still learn these days.

If you've read the previous posts carefully, you'd probably notice that Germany did not have units inside China fighting against the Japanese. The Germans trained a few divisions of KMT soldiers prior to WWII, so those divisions had German weapons and uniforms.
