"Military analysts believe the aircraft crashed minutes after taking off.

Police sealed the scene soon after the pilot reported the crash and his whereabouts to his base, the Chengdu-based Huaxi Metropolis Daily reported adding that he was taken away by a military vehicle a few minutes later.

Beijing-based military expert Li Jie said the pilot had been trained to land in sparsely populated areas in the event of an aircraft malfunction."

I was astounded when I saw picture of whole row of newly built j10b parked in Chengdu. Perhaps, production was ramped up too fast. There is a banner in great big red letters right next to where planes are parked admonishing workers to be "reliable and careful, attentive and detailed, serious and thoughtful, thousand tries without a loss". Chengdu knows the importance of quality control, but with so many planes can they be as thorough as they want. They'll probably review manufacturing process for defect elimination and ISO9000 certification.

Come on ! There are four - in numbers "4" - J-10B standing in a row ! We have seen such collection of J-10A since years ... I really can't understand why people wanna make so much fuss about this other than to proof their politically motivated opinions: Ohh it's a problem in the manufacturing process, so China is to blame, oooohhh it's powered by a Russian engine with both proves CHina is not capable to make a decent engine (again China to blame) and the Russians build crappy engines, so Russia is to blame !??:mad:

Come on, planes do crash from time to time - even the latest €F had some failures - and as long as we know nothing about the circumstances it's plain stupid to blame anyone. Maybe it was a bird-ingestion ... so only the now also dead bird is to blame !
