Trump's "standing offer" to the Iranians is evolving as he's learning the hard way that regime change in Tehran ain't as easy as what Lindsey Graham and Bibi Netanyahu promised.
Guy wants an offramp, or at least optics (e.g., ceasefire, public negotiations) that will reduce gas prices at home ahead of the midterms.
