To be honest some of the numbers there don't make sense. Some munitions shouldn't be lumped together too. There is no way Israel has only 250 David's Sling munitions. It is literally their primary general purpose ADS.

I agree, the US should have 8,500-8,800 legacy SM-2 alone, their number of 2,500 for SM-2 + 3 + 6 makes no sense whatsoever to me.
Not that that legacy SM-2 is good for any ballistic intercepts, but for sure it's suitable to shoot down Shaheed tier drones.
The newer upgraded SM-2 were made in such low numbers that even together with SM-3 and SM-6 you get nowhere near 2,500.

About 200 U.S. troops injured since start of U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran: command

WASHINGTON, March 16 (Xinhua) -- About 200 U.S. troops have been injured since the United States and Israel launched massive attacks on Iran more than two weeks ago, a spokesperson with the U.S. Central Command said on Monday.

The injuries happened across seven Middle East countries, namely Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, according to U.S. Central Command spokesperson Tim Hawkins.

Among the injured, 10 service members were seriously wounded and over 180 others have been treated and returned to duty, said Hawkins.

A U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft on Thursday went down in western Iraq, raising the known death toll of the U.S. military to 13 since the U.S.-Israeli strikes were launched on Feb. 28, the command said.

200 injured and 13 dead as far as the official figures go, so total 213 casualties in two weeks... this is an absolute disaster. the actual invasion didn't even start yet and already the US suffered that many casualties and Iran so far didn't seem like they were going after troop concentrations, rather they were going after air defence systems and airports. and these people want to invade and fight it out in those vast mountains?

forget about Iran becoming a quagmire for the empire. if they do invade the empire would be buried forever in Iran.

That damage is probably much higher than they are telling and they didn't even expected the retaliation in the Gulf so US troops had little warning.

I'm surprised to see Japan "declined to join" while South Korea is "considering." Perhaps those crazy S. Koreans Christian nationalists are having second thoughts about their white Jesus (or US dada) doesn't care about them? Maybe S. Korean can send their best "K-pop Demon Hunters" brigade to protect the straight of Hormuz.
At the end of the day, this is a golden opportunity to witness modern warfare first hand. It doesn't cost SK much politically or materially to send a pair of destroyers there in a purely air defense role. The experience in defending against drones in a congested battle space is something that is invaluable for SK.

SM-2 uses a semi-active radar seeker which requires a fire control radar like AN/SPG-62 to illuminate the target. AN/SPG-62 is mechanically steered... So if there are ~100 incoming drones it'll need to illuminate them one by one for the entire terminal phase duration. Cold War tech.

There is also a possibility that US is now using pac2's in kuwait etc

Task is escorting convoys through the strait.
It isn't pure AAW, Americans do it themselves for themselves.
It's combined AAW with ASUW(swarms) and c-uas, morphed with counter battery on Iranian territory.

Mix of wtf politics with tasks Japan has absolutely zero prep for.
Korea is more complicated as it does in fact has significant force for this exact fight(logir corvettes/fac)...but are vulnerable.
