Imagine if China provided cardboad beds to athletes like how Japan did. The outrage would've been astronomical.

I feel like they are overdoing it. Obviously it is wrong to give athletes horrible accommodations like they did at the Tokyo Olympics but I think furnishing is too luxurious. As long as they are comfortable for the athletes, they should be fine. No matter how good they are Western press would try to nitpick anyway.

Not sure what they mean by Zero G bed.... Memory foam is commonplace nowadays but back 20 years ago it was pioneered by TempurPedic which took the inspiration from NASA, with the foam padding for astronaughts to cushion the high G of reentry...

Due to inflation, top of line TempurPedic mattress now $5000 USD+

I imagine the Chinese beds costs even more...

China is making them too luxurious so they LOSE medals

These buildings/rooms are prob likely be reused/resold as resorts/hotels/dormas/communal housing etc. I can only speculate but in the US, a government contract would subcontract who would subcontract, who would sub contract... so your actual goods/service you pay for at 200$ is really worth only 40$. I suspect it is different in China these days, especially a gov contract.

These days, with competent modern designers, you can get a "luxury" feel and appearance at relatively low cost.

Already talking to American idiots telling me China gave them cardboard beds. I posted some links which were posted here in response and they said it isn't even proof as they could clearly be cardboard under the sheets.

Just pathetic behavior but they have become like Indians.
