Anybody thinks that the fleet the PLAN sent could make a good carrier escort force?

^ most definitely. It's quite destroyer heavy for a CV escort I think. They can take out two 051Cs, and such a escort force (+ 1 SSN) will still be better than what most navies can muster up during standard peace time.

Great task force question is how many helos are they carrying with them, always Chinese ships lack a serious helo fleet

Any naval task force must have a air cover, for coverage, replenishmnet, ASW and many other uses

I would expect attest halve a dozen helos with this fleet and also medium sized ones like Z8

But that's the point, such a fleet has a handicap if it has two Type 051C cus they take up air assets of others because they don't carry thier own helos, each ship should have a helo hence I said six helos, but anytime you sail Type 051C you have a serious weakness

Anyhow it's not like theres a imminent threat it was just a observation of a weakness
