Yasen class, using a reactor with similar thermal output (190-200 MW), has a 38 MW steam turbine.
Yasen displacement:
Surfaced: 8,600 tons
Submerged: 13,800 ton

Not sure we're expecting 095 to be that big? Maybe Seawolf sized ~9kt submerged. Of course single vs double hull has a big effect on displacement.

Seawolf:

1 S6W PWR 220 MW (300,000 hp), HEU 93.5%
1 secondary propulsion submerged motor
2 steam turbines 57,000 shp (43 MW)
1 shaft
1 pump-jet propeller

Of course 2 x 38MW would put 095 in a class of its own.

Having 2x 38MW steam turbines per boat seems way too much for a SSN.

Both Akula and Yasen SSNs with 12000+ tons of submerged displacement only has one ~32-35 MW steam turbine per boat.

Even the Borei SSBNs with 24000+ tons of submerged displacement has one ~38MW steam turbine per boat. The Ohio SSBNs with 18000+ tons of submerged displacement has one ~26MW steam turbine per boat.

maybe its for two units. 38MW for each submarine.

Oh my god when will we see the Type-095s I can't wait. We expect a surprise in 2026

I'll be shocked if we see a Type-095 image before 2027 or even 2028. Between the commissioning of the first Type-093B to when we had open source images was quite a few years. I'd expect the same for Type-095.
