I just want to see a two or three ship Type 071 exercise with six or eight LCAC...and then I want to see something substantial in the LCACs...like APCs, Amphib Tanks, several jeeps and 100 men...things like that.

And use the same engines.
Well, the Type 071, as I understand, is CODAD and uses four Shaanxi 16 PC2.6 V400 diesel engines (each engine producing a maximum power of 35,197kW), driving two controllable pitch propellers through twin shafts.

While the San Antonio uses four sequential turbocharged marine Colt-Pielstick diesel engines driving two shafts.

The Shaanxi engines are Pielsticks too and of virtually the same design.

They may be patterned after the Pielsticks...but they are not Pielsticks as far as I have ever been able to determine.

Find me any credible documentation that says the Shaanxi 16 PC2.6 V400 is actually a Colt-Pielstick PC2.5 STC. I do not think there is any such documentation.

Now, the Chinese may have acquired certain information and done a build of their own at something like a Colt-Pielstick PC2.5 STC...but they are not the same engine...which is what I was replying to in the first place.

If you can find such documentation...that is credible...I will gladly retract and say they are the same, but I do not believe they are.
